About the location
The terrace (built in 1880) is situated in an area called Newington Green, with many great restaurants, bakers, grocers, butchers, cheese shops, fishmongers and cafes. Nearby (10 minute walk) is Clissold Park with a splash zone and tennis courts as well as ponds and deerpark. Next to this is the West Reservoir where you can swim / sail / walk. Between the two is the Castle Climbing centre where you can rope climb and boulder. A 5 minute walk takes you to Newington Green itself where there are many pavement cafes and buses that will take you to Sadlers Wells in 10 minutes, or into central London and the river within 20-30 minutes. We are North of the river and Hackney is a vibrant, diverse and exciting place to live, with a lot of cultural events available locally, as well as the green lungs of the Hackney Marshes and the River Lea.
