Within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales & the Lake District (both around 30 minutes by car), Kirkby is also on the famous Settle-Carlisle train line direct to Leeds & Carlisle. Kendal, with its excellent Brewery Arts Centre & climbing wall, is only 30 mins away, as is Penrith. Ullswater Lake 40 mins. Stately homes of Dalemain, Sizergh & Levens all within easy distance too.
