Lime kilns

Lilm kilns cottage is a charming peaceful retreat in the scenic Forest of Dean with lovely view's of Lydbrook valley. The cottage is on a single tracked quiet, fairly steep road that leads down to the River Wye. Opposite the cottage are steps that lead into the forest and down to the village. The cottage consists upstairs of a double bedroom with dressing room, kitchen and bathroom. Also we have a large conservatory that leads out into the pretty garden. Downstairs is the living room and second bedroom. The garden is on three elevated levels all with wonderful views. First level is sitting area, second level we have a woodfired hottub and top level is a large table and sitting area with a build in bbq. The garden maynot be suitable for small children or those with mobility issues.

About the location

Lydbrook is a quiet village which has lots of character. Our cottage is within walking distance to a well stocked shop, two pubs, takeaways and a cafe that is very popular.
There is lots to do in the area and to explore. Great walks, as well as the wonderful activitity packed Wye Valley. Puzzle Wood, Clearwell caves and castle, symonds yat. You can hire canoes quite locally to go down the River Wye. There is a cycle centre very near where you can hire bikes for the day with scenic routes you can take on through the forest. We are within a few miles from Monmouthshire, Chepstow which are pretty welsh towns to visit.
