About the location

A short 10 minute walk from the house takes you to the old town of Peniscola with its warren of streets full of shops, restaurants and bars, encircled by a castle built by the Knights Templar between 1294 and 1307. Peniscola, is often called the "Gibraltar of Valencia", and locally as "The City in the Sea". There are two beaches, the south beach is shallow and very safe for young children, and the north beach is busier and stretches for 4 miles to the next resort of Benicarlo. Lots of water sports activities along the North beach including SUP, pedaloes, surfing and sailing, and of course swimming.
You can literally be in all the action within a short, 10 minute walk and later, having returned, be in a quiet and tranquil valley enjoying the spectacular views - it really is the best of both worlds!
