The ancient capital of Scotland, Stirling, with its castle and hills and cultural attractions is just 15-20 minutes away. There is also a train station in Stirling. If you want to travel further afield - Glasgow is 40 minutes drive, Edinburgh is 1.5 hours drive, Perth 1 hour, the West Coast 1.5 hours away, Loch Ness 3 hours and Isle of Skye 4 hours.
