CREATIVE FLAT IN CENTRAL LONDON

Charming flat in central London, perfectly situated just off Old Street.

I am an experimental filmmaker and multi-media creative in my 20s, as my colourfully dilapidated flat suggests! I work from home so can be very flexible. I am open to offers for home exchanges all over the world: particularly in Paris, Rome, Berlin, or New York as these cities are more explicitly linked to my film work.

The flat is a functional, beautiful space in an old Victorian building. It is humble in comparison to much of what is advertised here... but well loved, safe, functional, and LGBTQ friendly. This is a place to reflect, be creative, and an ideal springboard from which to explore the city.

There is both a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa which pulls out to become a small double. The bathroom has both a bath and shower - a luxury in this part of town! The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, and toaster, alongside the other usual amenities, and there is a lovely old walnut desk in the sitting room to read and write from.

This is a private first floor flat up one flight of stairs.

There is a cat who lives with me but she will be elsewhere when you are here!

About the location

The flat is in an extraordinarily well-placed area in Zone 1: situated between the old City and the river, and the bustle of Hackney. Simply look at the map. :) There are many magical spots within walking distance... from the Barbican to St Paul`s cathedral. There are also excellent transport links: with reliable buses 4 minutes walk from the flat; Old Street tube station approx. 5 minutes away; and hire bikes nearby.

In terms of food: there is a boulangerie next door, kebab and other fast food options over the road, and a supermarket about a minute or so away.

Despite proximity to the hustle and bustle of London life, this is a relatively peaceful street - highly pedestrianised with mostly cyclists commuting. The peacefulness is amplified by the wonderful trees nearby in Hoxton square, in Joe White Gardens which has a tennis court, and at Bunhill cemetery which is home to the grave of William Blake. :)
