Casa Mimosa

Our 3-bedroom house is at the end of a string of houses in a small, private condominium. It is spread over three floors: The three bedrooms + large bathroom on top floor, open-plan kitchen and living room + smaller bathroom on the ground floor and a large ‘taverna’ + bathroom/laundry room downstairs. The bedrooms are 1 double and 2 singles, but both singles can easily sleep two children. Our taverna downstairs is used as a guest room and has a sofa bed (queen size mattress) that can sleep an additional 2 people, a TV, an electric piano, a guitar, a dart board as well as a cross-trainer. You will also find lots of books for all ages both in the living room and in the taverna, as well as lots of arts and crafts, and games for children. The house is fully air conditioned, except for the taverna where it is always cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The outside area consists of a large, semi-covered terrace and small garden with two olive trees. Perfect for barbecues and sunbathing in the summer or an outdoor coffee in the winter.

About the location

We feel that our house has the best of two worlds - nearness to Florence with all that it offers, whilst being located in the beautiful countryside and olive groves on the outskirts of the city. A 20-minute bus ride or 15-minute train ride gets you into the city - bus stop is right outside the house; train station is a short walk down the road. Our town, Le Caldine, has all the basics - supermarket, pizzeria, gelateria for Italian ice cream, as well as a post office, hair dresser and beauty salon. There are lots of trails in the surrounding area for walking or running, and we are also within a 30-minute driving distance to several public swimming pools, or Lake Bilancino. In short, the location of our house can accommodate for a wide range of interests and types of holidays.
